Situated adjacent to the water meadows of the river Leach, our kitchen gardens are a joy. With tranquil views, we often see the barn owls hunting throughout the day, kites and buzzards soaring overhead, white egrets and herons, snipe, teal and mallard and sometimes a flash of the brightest blue kingfisher.

Amanda started Wyldwood Willow in 2000, based in Monmouthshire, South Wales. She attends a range of events and festivals across the UK every year offering workshops and willow weaving demonstrations.

So far this summer, the numbers of insects being recorded seems to be far lower than average and one of the main causes could be the long, dry summer we experienced last year which interrupted the natural breeding cycles of many species. Stepping into the water meadows at Southrop at the moment is excitedly different.

We chatted to Leathersmith and London College of Fashion Lecturer, Georgie Tym for a little insight in to her journey of leather craft, her creative processes and how she inspires future generations.

Reesha Zubair is an artisan potter working from her studio in Bristol. She produces small batches of pottery, both wheel thrown and hand built. Pieces vary from stand alone art to more functional tableware.

Ahead of her leather craft workshop at Thyme on Thursday 13th April, we caught up with Rosanna, to learn little more about her creative process, inspirations and advice as a designer.

Jane Hammond’s botanical collages offer a re-interpretation of the painterly tradition of botanical art. Whilst the spectacular arrangements of flowers, grasses and seeds, accompanied by insects and birds are curiously familiar, the juxtaposition of images from a myriad of places and time results in works that are entirely original.

British potter Richard Pomeroy has been an artist for most of his life, painting in oil on canvas. He came to pottery recently, in 2015. All of the pieces are hand-built in his studio in Bruton, Somerset, using porcelain clay. We are delighted to welcome, in partnership with the Lyndsey Ingram Gallery, an exhibition of ceramics by Richard Pomeroy.
