Gardens in winter have a particular beauty, a quietness and a serenity that you can come to appreciate with closer inspection.  Join House & Garden’s garden editor Clare Foster and House & Garden’s Garden Designer of the Year, Jinny Blom at Thyme for a look back at the beauty of a winter’s garden.

Following the talk, a special Winter Garden set menu will be available in the Ox Barn restaurant and after lunch, Thyme will be hosting a private tour for members of the 4 acres of productive gardens, and head vegetable gardener, Victoria Bowsher, will be on hand to share her knowledge.

About the Speakers

Clare Foster

After several years working in publishing, Clare Foster felt like a change of direction and took on the role of sub-editor at Gardens Illustrated. She stayed here for nine years, rising through the ranks to the role of editor. Clare joined House & Garden as garden editor in 2005: ‘I have the best job in the world: I visit gorgeous gardens, meet lovely people and then write about them.’

Jinny Blom

Landscape designer Jinny Blom has spent the last 20 years creating gardens that push the boundaries of creative and intelligent design. With an undefinable style, her work is driven by a need to understand what lies beneath and what has gone before

A prolific garden designer, Jinny Blom has created more than 250 public and private gardens and landscapes across the world, winning many awards including gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show.
