Join acclaimed interiors and textile designer Kathryn M. Ireland who will be talking through her life in design and giving a fascinating insight into her 30 years of working between London and Los Angeles. Hosted by Emily Tobin, editor of The World of Interiors, Kathryn will be talking through some of her favourite projects - including her two World of Interior front cover stories - discussing her passion for fabrics, and giving advice on a range of interior topics as part of a dynamic Q&A session. Kathryn will also be signing copies of her latest book - 'A Life in Design: Celebrating 30 Years of Interiors'.

Kathryn M. Ireland
British-born, pre-eminent interior designer Kathryn M. Ireland is a true citizen of the world. From her legendary “sympathetic restorations”of landmark architectural houses and hotels to extraordinary homes for the Hollywood elite, the star of Bravo’sMillion Dollar Decorators brings the best attributes of grand European style and cool California chic to every project. A die-hard fan of bold colour, layering of pattern and texture, and the beauty of imperfection, Ireland’s interiors convey an easy,elegant vibe that is worldly and chic, yet effortless. Kathryn has also established herself as a major force in product manufacturing and has been dedicated to producing her bespoke textile collections, woven collections,and upholstered goods all locally in the United States.
Kathryn has authored seven best-selling books, including the recently released ‘A Life in Design’ which celebrates the 30th anniversary of her design and textile business. She has collaborated with several home furnishing brands including Grange, Scalamandre, and C2 Paints and has also acted as the NorthAmerican Brand Ambassador for beloved British appliance brand AGA Rangemaster. Adding to her long list of credits over her multi-hyphenate career, Kathrynhas long developed and hosted Design Retreats each summer at her home in the south of France. Two destinations that have been added to the retreat calendar in 2024 are London and the Cotswolds, as well as a visit to Paris. At each she offers insight on her favourite local resources, professional expertise and storied experiences to help others succeed in the design industry. Kathryn has appeared as a design expert on Good Morning America, Access Hollywood Live, Good Day LA, andE! News. She has recently launched her debut online interiors course ‘Artfully Edited Interiors’ with Create Academy.

Co-Host’s Bio: Emily Tobin is editor of The World of Interiors. She joined the magazine in January 2022 following eleven years at House & Garden where she wore several hats, including arts and features editor and most recently, hosted a series of talks on art, craft, design and decorating. Emily has written on culture and interiors for a number of publications including The New York Times, Vanity Fair and Apollo. She also collaborated on a book charting the history of English interiors with decorator David Mlinaric and photographer Derry Moore.
