Socks and Crocs: A step in the right direction
At the foot of your bed here at Thyme, you will find a curious alternative to a single-use slipper. Banished since conception, traditional hotel slippers have never dared to set foot in the bedrooms here at Thyme. The appalling statistic that 10 million hotel slippers are thrown away each month - in America alone - makes our toes curl. No matter the material, any products designed to be single-use can never, by definition, be sustainable.
We came up with an answer, which is both cosy and durable, luxurious and pragmatic. A delicious dichotomy so ingenious we want every hotel in the world to adopt it. You heard it here first:
Socks and Crocs
In our mission to minimise waste and combat the throwaway culture that haunts hospitality, we’re proud to launch our newest initiative:
Borrow a pair of Thyme crocs during your stay, keeping your feet dry whilst navigating the garden paths.
For a snuggly in-room option, our British Lambswool socks are available to purchase.
Wear the socks and crocs together for the ultimate fashion statement.
Beloved by our chefs from the outset, our new Thyme crocs have occasionally been worn by guests in the Ox Barn restaurant. On New Year’s Eve one guest had a Cinderella moment - her Louis Vuitton heel had broken. While Molly, our Head Receptionist, came to the rescue, our gorgeous guest settled in to cocktails whilst donning her stylish crocs.
Join us in taking the next step in the right direction to a world with less waste.
